Women in Wine: INterview with Stephanie Franklin, Founder of Fly Wines

November 21, 2023

I am so happy to introduce you to Stephanie Franklin, Founder and CEO of Fly Wines, a minority-owned wine company, bringing the world’s finest wines from independent wineries to the U.S.

We were able to sit down and chat about her passion for wine, her business model and the launch this week of her new Wine Club subscription. Go to Monthly Subscription – Fly Wines and use promo code SUPERFLY for a $15 discount on your first wine club subscription.

Besides providing high quality wines from small producers, Fly Wines has an important education component so anyone, from novice to expert, can expand their wine knowledge.

I tried two of her amazing wines from the first subscription box – a stellar Pinot Grigio unlike any you’ve tried, and a beautiful and versatile Cabernet blend that is bound to be a crowd pleaser. Both are sourced from Italy, but her range of selection covers the whole world – and its expanding! Each month there will be different wines to discover and enjoy.

Fly Wines also offers a tasting box (pictured below) that is a great gift for the holidays. Or order several and have a virtual wine tasting with your friends and family arund the country. Fly Wines ships to most states.

You can find out more about how to order her wines and arrange for virtual sommelier led tastings on her website: FlyWines

With a passion for discovering exceptional wines and supporting underrepresented winemakers,
I established Fly Wines to bridge the gap between international vineyards and wine enthusiasts
in America. Our mission is to curate a diverse selection of wines that tell stories, showcase
unique terroirs, and celebrate the craftsmanship of talented winemakers worldwide.
As a minority-owned business, we are proud to contribute to the cultural and economic fabric of
the wine industry. By fostering relationships with independent wineries, we aim to empower and
uplift voices that may have traditionally been underrepresented. Our commitment to inclusivity
and authenticity drives every aspect of our operations.
I invite you to explore the world of fine wines through Fly Wines. Together, let’s raise a glass to
diversity, cultural exchange, and the shared joy of discovering exceptional wines from around
the globe.
I am proud to be at the forefront of introducing American wine enthusiasts to a world of flavors,
one bottle at a time. Join us in celebrating the artistry of winemaking and embark on a journey of
discovery with Fly Wines.

About Stephanie and Fly Wines

Stephanie Franklin, featured in NASDAQ, Medium, and The Business Journal, started FlyWines during COVID after losing her mother and good friend practically back-to-back. At the time, Franklin was working at an AdTech company. It was extremely hard to motivate herself at this time, so she decided to leap into her passion, helping her cope, but also knowing you only have today. She put in her two weeks and was off traveling the world in search of high-quality, small-batch wines from under-represented vineyards.

FlyWines, launched this last May 2023 and is already a pioneering name in the world of wine tastings, with subscription services launching this November, just in time for the holidays! The exciting differentiator between FlyWines and other wine clubs is that they offer unique tasting boxes to get acquainted before committing to a full order. This is important as a recent survey showed that consumers prefer taste over price and are willing to pay more to get what they want and enjoy every sip.

FlyWines works with customers for a special tasting experience. Being a wine importer and exporter, they have access to uncommon wine options for the more seasoned wine-o. Their in-house Chief Sommelier is also available to create custom wine boxes for those looking to broaden their wine knowledge or try new wines, or as unique holiday gifts. For those just getting their palette wet, the best option is to begin your wine journey with the tasting wine box.
