What I love:
Owner and Mom-tepreneur Donna Ali does a fabulous job curating a wonderful selection of wines and ciders, with a special expertise in Italian wines. Her charming shop in the West End has a great vibe and knowledgeable staff.

- Fabulous Wine Club: for $40 you can get a red and a white personally chosen by Donna for $40

What I love:
This family-owned shop located in a historic building downtown focuses on organic, natural and sustainable wines from small producers. Cozy and well signed, the staff is also quite good at helping choose the best wine for your taste or your meal.

- An incredible selection of cheeses and gourmet items, including gluten free
- Many quality wines under $20
- Sample the cheese before you buy

Why I love it:
If you are looking for a wide selection of wines from around the world, the biggest selection is at the NH Liquor and Wine Outlet at the traffic circle in Portsmouth. You will have to know what you are looking for, as the staff is usually busy stocking shelves or ringing people up, the range of wines to choose from makes up for it.
Pluses:
- Monthly specials on cases of wine – for example, 15% of Italian wines
- Power Buys: Great deals on a selection of wines, usually located in the center aisle, where you can find great prices on some nice quality wines
- Organized by varietal for US wines and by country and style for the rest
